Online CMAC Certification Training

CMAC offers you industry-recognized certification, demonstrating your proficiency in the RAI assessment tools and care planning. CMAC is the only industry certification that requires certificate holders to stay current with CMS legislative changes on an annual basis.

This is the initial certification for CMAC. If you are looking to recertify, you will need to do so through the CMAC Recertification training plan.

To best complete this certification, please complete the training in the order presented. The final module completed should be the CMAC Certification Exam. The certificate earned at completion of the training plan recognizes completion of the training plan. The training plan certificate paired with the certificate earned at completion of CMAC Certification will indicate successful CMAC certification.

All learners need to be enrolled into CMAC Certification & CMAC Recertification training plans at the same time to ensure accurate recertification dates. CMAC initial certification must be completed within 180 days of enrollment. CMAC re-certification must be completed within 365 days of initial certification.

How long does the certification period last?

The certification period is 365 days from the date on which you successfully completed the CMAC learning requirements. You will receive notifications by email when your certification expiry date is approaching.

How do I renew my certification?

To keep your CMAC certification active, you must renew it annually. Once you complete the certification for the first time, you will get a certificate that will have your renewal date on it. You must renew your certification prior to that date, but no sooner than 90 days before that date, to keep your certification valid. You have three tries to pass this evaluation with a score of 80% or higher. If you fail the exam 3 times, you will need to reach out to your organization’s Supervisor or Administrator to have them reset the attempts for you. If you purchased the CMAC certification on Relias Academy, you will need to reach out to Relias Support to have your attempts reset. Once you have recertified, your CMAC certification will remain valid until your next certification anniversary date.

Once I enroll, how long do I have to complete my requirements?

You will have 180 days (about six months) from the date of enrollment to complete your requirements for certification. If you complete a course outside of that 180-day window, you will have to retake any modules outside that window so that all modules have a completion date within the time range.
